Five years ago, the festival’s street food was often criticized because of the too-often-seen Balkan cuisine. Today, we can boast with the prestigious culinary selection that became a must! SladoLent came from being an interesting idea and became one of the festival’s fastest growing venues. Last year, it fed over 10,000 food lovers.
Once again, SladoLent will bring the chefs from the best and most prestigious Slovenian restaurants to Maribor. Their unique dishes will be accompanied by wines of fifteen Slovenian winemakers.
Even though the culinary program is only nine days long this year, it will feature the best of Slovenian cuisine. Some of this year’s chefs have been featured at SladoLent before: Bine Volčič (Kulinarični atelje), Andrej Kuhar (Vila Herberstein), Janez Bratovž (JB Restavracija), Marko Pavčnik (Pavus, grad Tabor), Tomaž Kavčič (Gostilna pri Lojzetu), David Vračko (Restavracija Mak) and Gregor Vračko (Hiša Denk).
Others will cook for us for the first time: Luka Nagode and Urška Dvoraček (Okrepčevalnica Luda), Gašper Čarman (Gostilna pri Danilu), Ivan Kastelic (Dnevni bar pr' Mrtinet), Lena Klinar and Primož Gregorič (Domačija Gora pod lipo) and many others.
The cooking show will take place in three professionally equipped Electrolux kitchens and will last from 7PM to midnight every day. The price of each dish will be 3.5 EUR.
