Experiencing Slovena is more than just a music experience: it is a blend of authentic vocal sound meeting ancient Slavic culture. The quartet consists of three authentic Bulgarian singers coming from different parts of Bulgaria: Shopluk, Dobrich and Rhodope. The founder, musical leader and a member of the quartet is the Slovenian singer Zvezdana Novakovič, who opens a new dimension in the musical tradition of old and new with her jazzy, classical and performative past.

The energy and power made by Slovena voices will lead you back to the old, ancient times. Sometimes their voices become traditional instruments, like gadulka or gaida, then the soft sound of a harp joins the vocals singing folk songs and opens a new sonic dimension. Contemporary jazz harmony improvised with the sound of tradition meets the modernism, Bulgaria meets Slovenia: this is what the essence of the Slovena quartet is: pure voices, authenticity, a moment without limits or boarders.
