APOLLONIS DUO
Tanja Sonc (1992) began with violin lessons at the age of five and has since then received many awards at both national and international competitions. The most important of them is winning first place at the Brahms Competition Pörtschachu in Austria. In 2012, Tanja won the Ferdo Livadić competition in Samobor, where she was named best interpreter of the competition.
In 2012, she graduated from the Academy of Music in Ljubljan and continued her studies at the Leopold Mozart Institute in Salzburg, Hochschule für Musik in Zurich and succesfully passed an audition for the orchestra practicum with the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich.
As a soloist, Tanja has performed with numerous orchestras in Slovenia and abroad. In February, she passed the audition for Seiji Ozawa International Academy.
Currently, Tanja is a member of the Gallus institution and has scholarships of Municipality of Ljubljana as well as Notenstein Akademie St. Gallen.
Violinist Božena Angelova started her music career in Maribor, where she is from. After having her first violin lessons with her parents, who are also musicians, Božena continued her journey at a music school in Maribor and later got accepted to colleges and universitites in Klagenfurt, Bern, Basel and Salzburg. In 2006, she successfully finidshed her Master's degree at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
Božena won numerous national and international competitions and received a scolarships of Republic of Slovenia and Switzerland while she was at university. She has performed at many music festivals with hte repertoir ranging from baroque to modern music. She regularly collaborates with the Camerata Salzburg orchestra, Musica Cubicularis Ensemble for Early Music from Slovenia, OENM ensembles for contemporary music from Austria and Zahir ensemble from Spain. She is also the second concertmaster of the Hamburger Camerata chamber orchestra. Božena also giver violin lessons at the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg as professor Harald Herzl's assistant.
